A ‘Workshop on Leadership Attributes’ was conducted on 18th January, 2023, at Ranchi for senior leaders (HOPs, GMs, HOHRs, and other senior executives) of Mining Region.
This Workshop was conducted in association with SHRM India with the objective of building awareness, momentum and understanding of the Gold and Unacceptable Standards of the four Leadership attributes (Ownership, Speed, Empowerment/risk taking, Growth) identified as part of the exercise towards ‘Corporate Restructuring of NTPC’ and for ‘Strengthening of NTPC’s Performance Culture’.
The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining-HQs).
Shri Srinivasa Kuppa Murthy, GM (HR), Coal Mining-HQs, welcomed all the participants in the Workshop. In his address, he informed the participants that the workshop was a step towards the actualization of the four leadership attributes. He stated that these leadership attributes shall be the new benchmarks for display of micro behaviours.
Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining-HQs), in his address, shared with the participants that the current era was an era of disruptions characterized by both challenges and opportunities. He stated that leaders have to cope with such disruptions in order to overcome the challenges and capitalize upon the opportunities. He shared with the participants the examples of disruptions being witnessed in the Mining Sector, especially the ones related to technological disruptions. He emphasized upon the participants that, in today’s age, stakeholders form their views about companies not only on the basis of operational and financial performance, but also upon the company’s environmental and social performance. He encouraged the participants to be participative in the workshop which was aimed at providing inputs to them for better decision-making.
A Presentation on the key HR Initiatives, the thrust areas, the modifications in PMS Policy, Executive Promotion Policy and modalities for promotion of specialist cadre executives was also shared with the Participants.
